The Wisconsin Cyclocross Series does not run regular practices, but there are community practices run by individual race organizers or teams of volunteers. If you would like to add your practice to this page, send it our way.

West Bend

This informal practice series is free! Riders of all skill levels are welcome! Whether you are preparing for the racing season or you just want to see what cyclocross is all about, this series is for you. The 1-mile course features mostly turf surface with tight corners, barriers, challenging climbs and fast descents.
We respect public park space. Practice will be cancelled if the course is wet.

Details: The first four practices will include a clinic portion for those who are looking to get into or improve their cyclocross skills! Courses will be set-up by 5 pm with practice starting at 5:30 pm. There will be a practice race each week starting at 5:45 pm.

Milwaukee
There are several different practices this year at different locations, held concurrently. Pick the practice mode that’s right for you. These practices are held on Wednesdays at 5:30 and runs until at least 6:30, or whenever folks get tired.
Beginner+: Understand basic cyclocross skills and learn through collaboration, followed by hot laps and open practice. Open to all ages and skill levels, on any bike.
Intermediate+: These meetups focuses on growing a variety of cyclocross skills through collective practice and feedback. Pick your own agenda: repeat fundamentals, session features, and/or run a course. There is no formal or group instruction, but open-source feedback and tips are encouraged. All are welcome.

Wausau

Our local course features a short, but punchy lap with a steep run up, off camber turns, barriers, and an optional sand pit.
Typical format:
– Warm up lap(s)
– Hot/race laps (pyramid format)
– Cool down lap
We can also work on specific skills if anyone would like to! These can include: dismounts/remounts, shouldering, sand skills, cornering, and bunny hopping.
