Pactimo Points Leader jersey

This year we are happy to be teaming up with the folks at Pactimo to bring WICX Series Pactimo Points Leader jerseys to the forefront of the competition. These jerseys will grace the shoulders of the person who currently has the most points in each category, and could change dynamically throughout the series if another rider overtakes the current leader.

Then, at the end of the series the ultimate leader will be bestowed with the annual Series Winner jersey that has become customary to our series.

To be in contention for the Pactimo Points Series Leader jersey, racers must participate in at least 5 races in a selected category, after which only your best 8 races will be counted towards overall points. Early-season races are exempt from that 5-race minimum until the 5th race day. If the current leader is overtaken, they must wash and return the jersey the following week.

More information about scoring can be found at wicxseries.com/scoring/.

Cyclocross racing is open to all ages, speeds and skill levels, offering spaces to compete and places to party. Participants can choose to race as many or as few races as they please. Notes on what’s new

This year we’re welcoming back Brazen Dropouts as race hosts, though the name and venue still is yet-to-be-decided. Brazen Dropouts used to host the Sun Prairie Cup until 2021, and then helped get the Englewood Open CX on its feet. Now they’re back with brand new plans.

Speaking of which, Englewood Open CX moves down the calendar this year, following Trek CX Cup in October.

And Kringle Kross has stepped out of the series points-offering this year and stepped in to host the Midwest Regional Championships, bringing the Prestige of the Reeg to Wisconsin for the second year in a row.

End-of-season survey

With the closing laps of Sunnyview Cross and the upcoming Wisconsin State Championship, so ends the 2024 WICX Series season.

We had a blast, but we would also like to take this moment to grab some of your thoughts on how your season went, what you loved, maybe what you didn’t love so much, and any other thoughts on the future.

It’s 5 pages and shouldn’t take more than 5 minutes to fill out. The survey will close on Sunday, November 24 at midnight.

The survey period has closed.

Thanks for your contributions towards making this series the best that it can be.

Announcing the 2024 WICX Series schedule

PHOTO: Michael Van Dyke

The Wisconsin cyclocross scene burns bright this year with lots of action within—and around—the WICX Series. Thankfully we have an extra week before Thanksgiving this year, because there was a lot to cram in, with a total of 21 opportunities to race cross in the state.

Let’s break it down

The 2024 WICX Series offers 14 races to compete for series points. This includes 3 new race venues in St. Francis, Muskego and Kenosha.

Added to that, we’ve got 2 championship races: Midwest Regional Champs, coming in October, and regular mainstay Wisconsin State Champs at the end of the season.

Peppered throughout the schedule are also 4 non-series UCI-caliber races. This includes an upgrade to the Englewood CX race, which is now a 2-day, C2-classified race and is the USA Cycling Cyclocross National Series opener. Then a month later we are treated to the Trek CX Cup weekend, which has closes out the USCX pro cyclocross points series.

And finally, you won’t want to miss the crazy stylings and feats of strength of the SSCXWC (Single Speed Cyclocross World Championship), which are being brought to Wisconsin this year.

Fire up the bike washing machines, cuz it’s gonna be a heck of a season.
